I live in Orlando, Florida, and as most of you have heard by now, we have had a heart-wrenching last couple of days over here, with two major shootings, one of an entire nightclub of people. There are a lot of heavy emotions right now, and I know it's felt all over. Many people are locked in battles of pain and hate, lashing out, and we're seeing a lot of that online right now... but there are plenty of others stepping up and focusing on empathy and compassion instead.
Bitterness and anger are easy feelings. Love and compassion are harder, but they are what heals us.
I've picked out some beautiful works from some amazing artists to feature here, who took the time to display their feelings and prayers with tears and love.
We're all connected as human beings regardless of what kind of people we are, and we're all in this together. None of us are alone.
Thank you artists for your beautiful, emotional, and classy responses.
If you would rather your art not be featured in this journal for any reason, please just let me know.
(If you have or know of any more art memorializing the heartbreaking events in Orlando, you are welcome to share it below and I may add it to this list! Please leave out anything depicting hate... I think we've all had enough of that, don't you?)
